'Escape’ is an ode to the transformative power of music—celebrating its ability to heal, inspire, and offer a sense of belonging. With its evocative lyrics and powerful melody, Niamh invites listeners to experience the comfort of music as a faithful companion.
Produced by Jolon Yeoman at Knockwood Studios in Leith, the track features a stellar line-up of musicians, including Stephen Buggy on drums, Tabitha Beavitt on fiddle, and Yeoman on bass guitar. Niamh adds lush layers of cello to the composition, while Yeoman’s nostalgic production style brings a vintage feel to the song, bringing the arrangement to life.
As with her previous works, Niamh weaves subtle elements of Scottish traditional music into ‘Escape,’ blending rich cultural influences with contemporary sounds. This is especially evident in Beavitt’s emotive and hauntingly beautiful fiddle playing, with whom Niamh studied at the National Centre for Excellence in Traditional Music.
