Niamh Maclennan is a singer-songwriter and musician hailing from the picturesque Applecross Peninsula, now based in Glasgow. Drawing on her roots in Scottish traditional music, Niamh’s sound has evolved into a fresh blend of contemporary melodies with a heartfelt, emotive edge. Known for her soulful vocal performances and infectious guitar riffs, Niamh’s music invites listeners into a space where vulnerability meets empowerment. Frequently performing with her band in Glasgow, Niamh is steadily building a reputation for her captivating live shows and her ability to craft catchy yet poignant tunes that resonate deeply with audiences.

Escape is an ode to the transformative power of music, and has already recieved praise from the likes of Rock Era Magazine and Rotate Magazine.
The Dreamer conjures the teenage angst feelings of growing up: the pain that comes with no longer experiencing the intensity of life felt as a child. It opens with trademark harmonics leading via a dreamy mellotron to a reverberant 90s R&B groove, musically narrating feelings of nostalgia. This song juxtaposes the upbeat with poignant subject matter that often the inner world is preferable to the harshness of everyday life that so often disappoints. The soulful result is not inward looking at all but speaks to the feelings of the generation. Niamh can share a complex intangible feeling, transporting the listener to a different world. Her writing has developed in this way from her first releases at the age of seventeen under the name of Niamhy Mac. Her insightful words are echoed by her own breezy guitar style which is every bit as evident in The Dreamer as in all her previous releases.
